Q: Can employees work from U.S. territories, such as Puerto Rico or Guam?
- A: Possibly. Each situation must be reviewed individually to confirm compliance with local laws and Dartmouth policies.
Q: What factors are considered during review?
- A: Tax implications, data security, export control, intellectual property, and other potential risks to the college and worker.
Q: What is the typical turnaround time for a request?
- A: A request for a staff member can take up to four weeks, so please submit the request before travel occurs (when possible). A request for an independent contractor is usually resolved in under two weeks. Some cases may take longer and involve more research, so please alert the ISC as soon as possible.
